Bile & Salt 03:59
I tasted black bile the night that he died When my stomach turned out whatever was left inside It wasn't that much Salt and scrap paper left by the bed They seemed almost arranged to draw these thoughts from my head He used that cane in the corner instead of my hand It was the pain in the riddle of that kind of man Like we'd ever think less of him
2.
She takes the long way home To them now She takes North Adams Rd. Switchbacks and greening trees The gravel banks and the easy lean And inertia pulling her down Like an animal sleeps Ears up and listening for death in the dark Quick breath and barely asleep at all

about

These have to be two of the slowest and saddest songs I've written in a while. One is about a patriarch dying. The other is about a mother who needs a break from her family. Although they were written several months apart and are about entirely unrelated things, I think they kind of belong together.

about

Joseph Mooradian Nashville, Tennessee

Joseph writes all the time and records some of the time.

His recent collection, Hummer, is about shootings, smiling, the plummeting bird population, laughing, and even (unfortunately/briefly) politics.

When he’s not writing/recording, he keeps busy in Nashville, TN, with domestic life: reading, walking, working on his house, cooking/eating, and watching plenty of stuff.
